Warranty

All our products come with a two-year quality guarantee

European Union directive ensuring a two-year warranty for all products sold in the European Union. We are well aware of our obligations under EU law and don't hide behind a shorter commercial guarantee period than this. When you buy tires or rims from padangos123.lt you are entitled to this guarantee

Warranty terms:

  • Two-year warranty period. It is calculated from the day of delivery/handover of the product(s) to the buyer;
  • This warranty covers all goods manufacturing defects and damages occurring before the goods are handed over to the customer;
  • The tire warranty is not valid for defects caused by incorrect use or storage, mechanical or chemical damage, use of incorrect rim size/type, incorrect air pressure in the tire, incorrect selection of load, speed indices or other parameters, incorrect installation, repair or other reasons that are directly or indirectly caused by the tire user. The warranty also does not cover tire mileage or damage caused after the tread has worn down to the manufacturer's recommended minimum mark.
  • The rim warranty does not apply to defects caused by the use of incorrect bolts or centering rings.

To benefit from the guarantee, you must have proof of purchase (invoice, receipt) or a copy of it.

What should you do if you suspect you have bought a faulty product?

Here is a brief description of the standard warranty procedure, so that you know what to do if you notice a defect in the product or what to expect when applying for a warranty claim:

Most often, a factory defect in tires or rims is noticed during manufacturing process. If you are still suspicious about the quality of a product after it has been put into service, the first step is to assess whether it is safe to continue using it. If in doubt, consult specialists. Your safety comes first.

To benefit from the guarantee, you must have proof of purchase (invoice, receipt) or a copy of it.

Please contact padangos123.lt by email, phone or other contact details.

If you apply for a warranty by e-mail - attach several photos of the defect. Sometimes a warranty case can be confirmed by them. You will then get your new product or money faster.

We will arrange for the transport of the faulty goods to us.

The tire must be presented for inspection without the rim and the rim without the tire. If the defect may not be visible after disassembly, please check with padangos123.lt staff how to proceed.

After confirming the warranty case - we compensate the installation costs.

We will send the faulty product to the manufacturer, its representative or arrange for an independent inspection. We represent your interests and find the fastest and most reliable way to resolve warranty issues!

The inspection identifies tire damage and its causes.
Important: To make sure that the inner structure of the tire is not damaged/broken, the tire may be damaged (cut) during the inspection. Regardless of whether the case is under warranty or not.

Rims are usually checked without damaging them.

The warranty procedure usually takes 15-30 days*. However, in the case of more difficult-to-detect infringements, logistics delays (e.g. during holiday periods), the warranty procedure may be delayed slightly.
*Calculated from the day of notification of the faulty product.

If it is confirmed that the product is faulty due to a manufacturing defect, we will replace it.
According to manufacturers' recommendations, one new tire can be fitted on the same axle when the older tire has at least 70 per cent tread remaining.
If the product cannot be replaced (it is no longer in production), or if you refuse to do so, we will refund your money
Whether under warranty or not, we will take care of the disposal of the unusable tire.
The warranty on the product you bought is extended by the number of days that the warranty procedure lasted (i.e. the amount of time you were unable to use the product).

Guarantee procedures are often not convenient or pleasant, but we do our best to make sure that the process goes as quickly as possible and that your rights are fairly protected.

The most common warranty claims

Unbalance

As with most tire failures, the unbalance is noticed as early as installation. If a new tire on a straight rim fails to balance or requires an illogical amount of weight to balance, please contact padangos123.lt using the contact details below.

Delamination, obvious defects in tire construction

If you suspect any defects in the tire's construction or delamination, do not risk using the tire again. Replace it immediately with a spare or contact technical support. The illustration below shows extreme cases of tire delamination where drivers have failed to notice or ignore structural defects. The initial signs of such defects may be less serious.

The most common non-warranty claims

Feel free to assert your rights under the product guarantee. If you doubt whether your case is under warranty - contact the padangos123.lt staff and we will be happy to answer all your questions. However, to save your time, we provide examples and illustrations of the most common non-warranty tire damage. Unfortunately, in these cases the tires are mechanically damaged and the warranty is invalid.

Damage occurred due to low tire pressure

Driving for long periods with too little air pressure damages the tire structure in the same way as carrying significantly more weight than recommended. Such damage is particularly dangerous because it cannot be seen from the outside until the tire explodes or otherwise deforms. However, when the tire is taken off and you look inside the tire, you can clearly see if the damage is due to under-inflation. The tire's sidewalls are "burnt" on the inside, with chips visible and a weakening of the sidewall structure. Tire warranty cases are not considered in these circumstances. Regularly checking your tire pressure is essential to avoid these damages.

Uneven wear and other mechanical damage to the tread

Uneven tread wear usually indicates that the tire is damaged due to bad geometry of the car's wheels, loose suspension or improper air pressure. In rare cases, sudden braking without an anti-lock braking system or wheel stalling can cause the tire tread to be damaged (worn off) in one place. Continued use of such a tire results in vibration. Tires with uneven tread wear are not covered under warranty.

Bumps caused by mechanical damage to the tire structure

The sidewalls are the weakest and most easily damaged part of the tire. A pothole or curb impact ruptures the inner structure of the tire, allowing air pressure into the inner layers of the tire and causing a bump. Sometimes a bump can appear days or even months after a blow, or after repeated blows to the same area. If the bump occurred during the installation of the new tire, during the first few days of use, and there is no damage to the inside of the tire, it is a factory defect. If much later, it is likely that the tire will be found to be mechanically broken at the time of the inspection and the tire will not be replaced under warranty.

Damage caused by improper installation

Improper tire installation usually damages the part of the tire that touches the rim. Such damage can lead to air permeability to the inside or outside of the tire. Choose carefully and trusted installers!

Can a tire defect cause vibrations?

It is very common to suspect that a tire defect is not obviously visible, but rather that the wheels are shaking through the car body or steering wheel. As vibrations can be caused by many variables (tire, rim, hub, suspension condition, etc.), it is necessary to determine whether the vibration is caused by a faulty tire or by other components in the car. The absence of vibrations before the installation of new tires does not necessarily mean that the tire is defective.
What should be checked first?

  • Car suspension Could something have gone wrong with the suspension if everything was fine a couple of hours ago? Unfortunately, yes. Lifting the car with a hoist already puts a strain on the suspension elements. If certain parts of the rubber suspension have become worn, the force of the springs can permanently tear them off when the car is raised. Looseness in the suspension can cause vibrations while driving. Although the chances of this scenario are quite low, it is worth checking.

Suspension play aside, the wheels should be checked to determine which one is causing the vibration; it should be removed and inspected.

  • Check the wheel fixing point for dirt, rust, loose centering rings or any other cause that might prevent the rim from pressing evenly against the hub.
  • Check that the tire fits evenly around the circumference of the rim. If necessary, reinstall the tire.
  • Balancing weights have not fallen off/unglued. If dirt or salts are not wiped clean from the rim, the weights can become unstuck.
  • Check or re-balance the wheel.
  • Check the straightness of the rim.

If the source of the vibration cannot be determined after the initial inspection, there is one more thing you should know.

As a tire is made up of many individual layers and components, its properties (hardness, elasticity) may vary slightly from place to place. This is called uneven tire wear. As the tire rolls, it compresses as if it were made of springs. If the hardness of these springs varies by more than the permissible amount, this could be a cause of vibration.

Uneven tire wear

At the end of the production process, manufacturers measure this characteristic, checking whether the structural unevenness is tolerable. Sometimes a red solid dot indicates where on the tire the maximum of this characteristic is (radial force variation first harmonic maximum). The lightest part of the tire is similarly marked (yellow circle).

Markings on tires for the tire's lightest point and maximum uneven wear

This information is usually not relevant to the consumer or even to tire installers. Tires are usually installed and used regardless of these markings. Sometimes the red dot is mistaken for the hardest part of the tire, and attempts are made to combine it with the location of the air valve, etc. In fact, for maximum wheel alignment, the red dot should coincide with a special marking on the rim or the lowest point on the rim.

To see how tire design unevenness is detected and compensated for, watch this video:

Thus, even if the uneven wear of the tire is tolerable, accidental misalignment of the tire in relation to the rim can lead to vibrations. Special balancing machines can measure the structural unevenness and select the best tire position. In practice, however, the most common way of experimenting is to rotate the tire 180 or 90 degrees by installing the tire on a different wheel rim.

If you suspect that the tire you have purchased may be causing noticeable vibrations, please contact padangos123.lt staff immediately. We will work together productively to clarify the quality of the tire and ensuring your rights to the warranty as a buyer.

IMPORTANT: During the manufacturing process, manufacturers check each tire for geometric balance and constructional irregularities. However, these parameters may deteriorate due to improper transport and different manufacturers may have different tolerances. Reliable, well-known tire manufacturers ensure a more thorough inspection process, tolerate smaller tolerances and take care of quality logistics.
